Playing catch-up here. These are images from a scene I completed quite a while back but never got round to posting. My attempt at recreating one of these high-end Poliform/Varenna kitchen.
The modeling was done in 3ds Max and the rendering in Corona.

Good question. For blacks, I usually use RGB 3,3,3 or 4,4,4 (and RGB 180,180,180 for whites). This makes the blacks very washed out when looking at a linear image, but you would be crunching that in post with an S-curve, moving you much closer to pure blacks in the final image. Of course, you also want your textures to be operating in roughly the same space. Avoid extreme RGB values there too.
Excellent Renders !!
May I ask you a question? what RGB values do you usually use for black color? what about pure black?
thanks
i would love to see the processing though for each image, that would make a complete buy for me, i have always bought scenes from other sellers but none except evermotion includes the psd files would be nice if you included this as part of the sale package with maybe a small video showing the treatment of each image, i would gladly grab a copy or something like patreon where we can make monthly subscription to your work and payments go automatically, currently artists are doing this and its been great for a few people, some video tutorials even just the post processing would be Fantastic from you @BBB3VIZ
Hi Bertrand. Steller work as usual. I was just curious about the amount of passes you prefer. Do you have a sweet spot, or is there something specific you look out for ?
I think the pictures are really fantastic! There is only one thing that bothers me (devil is in the detail….), if you feel a glass of juice, the bottle should contain all the juice minus the volume of one glass maybe… I am truly sorry for that, maybe people won’t agree…. I wouldn’t dare to say anything if the picture were not that good, and those are perfect!
Another question about the marble:it’s a sss or normal corona mat?some ref map?fresnel ref with high value?
thanks …
but ArionFX is for stills …
i mean for animation … i’m using DavinciResolve (OFX host) via MagicBullet and Sapphire … so , can i get this effects with MagicBullet and Sapphire?
my output is as incremental 32bit EXRs. but my problem is in initial tonemapping of corona :\ witch exposure and whitebalance and contrast?? use lower exposure and then tweak it in postpro?
@dvd.kh I just use ArionFX, nothing else. So there’s not much of a workflow, and each image gets a different treatment.
@BBB3VIZ
hi,
what’s your workflow for postprocessing of this work? can you post some screenshots?
@BBB3VIZ
hi,
what’s your workflow for postproduction?
can you post some screenshots of postprocessing of this work?
In fact to put it very simple I just wanted to know if the overall colours of your images come directly from your materials or if there is a lot of work in post processing (concerning the colours) that fixes this aspect. Thanks a lot for your guidelines and for your models that you put out on turbosquid (it helps me a lot).

Incredible as usual 🙂 There are three things I’m not convinced to:
1. Boiling water – looks strange
2. Stove flame – isn’t it too green?
3. The kitchen’s hood glow-tubes (4th picture) – shouldn’t its glow effect and temerature correspond to it’s reflections too?
No matter what these images still splashes my brain on the wall. Freaking brilliant!
P.S. any comments about corona 1.5? 😀
@marcozzz: Yes, the exterior is completely 3D. There’s even fog!
@monoviz: I’m not planning to put this one up for sale. At least not yet. Regarding discounts: I normally do them only once a year for Black Friday. I expect this year will be the same.
@Flight: I’m not sure. I guess one thing is to never use overbright RGB values. For instance, my “white” generally has RGB values of 190,190,190. Same with dark colors: You should never have 0,0,0 even for pure black.
Great work Bertrand! How do you manage to get these natural colours in your scenes, I guess it comes from the color curves tweaking you do but does that also come from the textures and light or it’s just post processing (the color in the white ceiling and walls)? Is there anything special about that that worths and can be shared? 🙂 Thank you, I hope my question is clear.
Your render is as always perfect, just a question:the exterior is a 3d entirely?
Great one again! Are you going to post this on turbosquid? or is there any plan for posting new whole scene? And last one, you were saying about putting Haussmann Parisian Interior for discount, do you still have that plan?
Thanks and please keep us updated via more images more often! Cannot wait to see more
Thanks a lot. Yes, it’s hard getting this translucency and glossiness exactly right.
Great Renders, great compositions, great models ….. !!!
The only thing I have to mention (sorry): your basil looks a litte bit artifical – like wax
All the other stuff: G R E A T !
