Shake that tree

It took a while but I’ve now got round to putting up my animated olive trees in the warehouse. Check them out here.

The download includes two separate archives, one with the three, animated GrowFX objects, one with three static trees collapsed into three big meshes. Only the former includes the wind animation.

As always, make sure to read all the small print before purchasing.

Below a few more raw renders and a sample of the wind animation:

Hi Bertrand, looks awesome and it’s exactly what I need that moment… I am ready to purchase the models, I have read all the small print, but I would like to ask if the files are compatible with the newest versions of Vray 3.6? I work in a normal computer and vray version, so i am confused because it’s written that the files are for GPU version and i don’t understand what’s the difference and if it still works in normal vray versions – computers… btw I am not interested in the animated version, as I want to use the models for static images! Thank you!

  1. @Diego, sorry for the delayed response. I was traveling and didn’t see your message. This asset was created for V-Ray Next GPU and I can therefore only guarantee that it will look exactly the same in that version of the renderer.
That said, it should work fine in 3.6 on the CPU but it may either look a little different or may require very small adjustments to the material to look exactly the same.

Thanks a lot for your answer Bernard… ok, I understand what you mean, by the way I placed a support ticket on Turbosquid for the conversion of this file in 3.6 CPU (Turbosquid offers a service for files conversions) but unfortunately I didn’t receive any answer yet… anyway, I think that I will take the risk and buy these models, because these are exactly what I need for my Mediterranean scenes, and because your work is perfect and these here for GPU version looks awesome, even if it looks slightly different on CPU and vray 3.6 and probably not that good for me will be ok 🙂

Update: I just wanted to let you know Bertrand that finally, I bought the models and used them on CPU and everything looks great (and no slow render or any kind of problem)! Maybe like you said with some small adjustments to the material would look slightly more similar to the GPU version, but anyway, works fine and the models look very nice. Thank you!

  2. Great! Thanks for the feedback Diego and glad to hear that they’re working for you. If you can share the final images, it would be grand.
