It’s the summer and I felt like a small infedility. Here is my first half-presentable test of Maxwell. I don’t see myself dropping Vray for all the serious stuff, but I’ll definitely return to Maxwell, which I haven’t explored enough. The subtlety of the lighting/shadows is impressive and the render times, at least for simple setups like those, very acceptable.

Nice for eye, but how you could betray v – reya hehe :) Maxwell has really huge potential treat times for long expectation..

It looks great indeed, and what about interactive rendering ? If you could briefly compare it to vray RT for instance.

And I heard u had played a bit with octane, would it be a good option for a visualisation production ? It does still miss some features but seems really interesting. Only point Im really afraid of is the VRAM limitation. Id love to give it a go but working with an ati card at the moment it seems Ill have to wait a bit.

Superb quality , you can create brilliant images , even with Autocad ! ;-) , you use more than the most of the software .
I want to start working with liquid in my archviz projects , what plugin do you recommend ? I think Realflow is the best in this subject but it looks difficult and needs a very powerful system , I’m looking for an easy to use plugin , what do you suggest ?

Thanks guys, and sorry for the delay in responding.

Arnaud: I have Octane and have been using it since the early betas (in fact, one of the earliest splash screens was by me), but I haven’t been using it too much lately due to some overheating problem with the card in my system. Once I solve this one I’ll be using Octane more. I’m amazed at what it can do in the hands, for instance, of Enrico Cerica. But ram is a problem, yes, so that I can see myself using it mainly for product viz, like the furniture I do (even though these models tend to contain pretty big textures too).

Hossein: Thanks but, no, I don’t use Autocad… This was all done in Max. As for liquids, if you are starting, I would recommend first working with some PFlow systems (if you use Max) and get familiarized with some of the concepts. There is a lot that can be done with PFlow, even though it does not do physics per se. You will find some very useful tips here and sample scenes that show you how to generate amazingly real liquid effects with PFlow. Later on (and again, only if you are using Max), I would suggest moving to Phoenix, which can do liquid as well as fire, smoke, haze, clouds, etc.
